Adding Fusebox and Fusedocs Customisation

Sandra Clark has some great tools for adding Fusebox 4 and Fusedoc tags to your code.

Whilst I like her Fusedoc tool, the one at fusedoc.org has a better way of adding the initial fusedoc section to your code.

So I install Sandra extension first then replace Fusedoc.htm in the users Configuration\Objects\FuseDocs with that from the fusedoc.org code. Also add the Fusedoc.js file from fusedoc.org to the users FuseDocs directory.

That said, I've made some changes to the Fusedoc.js file to suit my own coding house style and I've stored it here.

Replacing Rogue Tab Chars

Do you get fed up with Dreamweaver poking tab chars into the text of your page?

Yeah, I know I it doesn't make any difference to the final display, but it just looks untidy.

Well, I think I've got a search and replace regular expression which will strip those blighters out.

Try putting this into the search box: (\w|[.,%&'])\t(\w|[.,%&'])

...and this into the replace box: $1 $2

...remembering to check the "Use Regular Expressions" checkbox!

It may not be perfect, but I'll refine it over time with experience.

Change Default Page Template

Open Dreamweaver MX (DWMX).
Click on "File" > "Open"
Then browse to the location of your DWMX installation and find the New Documents folder. Select the Default.cfm file and open it in DWMX. A typical path to this file might be: C:\Program Files\Macromedia\Dreamweaver MX\Configuration\DocumentTypes\NewDocuments\Default.cfm
At the very top of this file, add a set of empty comments. For example:
Save the file and you are done.
